Land of the Delta

Travel through the Mississippi Delta's heartland to discover the core of the Delta on this itinerary. You'll make a stop at the Hopson cotton plantation in Clarksdale for a historical plantation tour or Tunica for a Mississippi Riverboat Cruise.

Day 1

Tunica to Clarksdale.35 miles. Use Hwy 61 South.

9 am - Noon Tunica RiverPark
Explore the Mississippi River as you travel through the museum and interpretive center, complete with aquariums and interactive exhibits. You can also enjoy the Ecotour and the Mississippi River overlook.

Once one of the largest cotton farming operations in the South. Be sure and visit the Commissary, now a museum that houses farming memorabilia.

Dinner/Lodging in Indianola

Agricultural tours are seasonal and at the mercy of mother nature. Catfish farming is most visible from mid Spring to late Fall. Crops are generally planted in the Spring and harvested mid August to the end of October.
